Avid - Sibelius deregistration

Post by DanielBeach »

I've got Sibelius 7, and it's registered on a computer which is now dead.

I've been on the Avid support line waiting for 30 minutes on three occasions, with no success getting though to a human ; they also aren't answering emails.

Anybody have any experience with this? I'm stuck!

Thanks,

Daniel

All sorted now.

After trawling hundreds of previous internet posts, I found the email address of an Avid support lady in the US, I emailed her directly, and she sorted it within the hour!

Good result, lousy process! But still, sorted is good.

My God! You did well! I had a similar situation last year when two motherboard failures in very quick succession resulted in all my registrations for Sibelius being used up. The only way I found to sort it was to pay a fee up front to contact Avid support (about 20 quid, it was) and only then could I speak to someone who could sort it out (and did, in fairness, sort it out quickly).

Other software that ran out of registrations for the same reason: Console 1, required a free and quick phone call so no problem; Melodyne, no phone call required as the functionality to clear invalid registrations was right there in my account.

My opinion of Avid, already low, is now hovering around Moho level.
