Emu Mo'phatt module - where's the battery?

Post by Ris of Serig »

Hi,

Could anyone tell me please where to find the battery on an EMU Mo'phatt module, so I can put a new one in?

I can't see anything that looks like a battery on the main board. It's really obvious on the similar Audity 2000 I own.

Any help would be much appreciated - I can't find a service manual anywhere!

Thanks

I suspect your board is like the one in the first post (as those E-MU modules are all based around the Proteus). The battery is the big yellow lump at the top right. It will need to be de-soldered and replaced like for like. You might be able to change it for a lithium disc battery, but that will require a bit more research.

Thanks Richie, but the board is different to that. Here's a picture I found on-line of what it looks like:
web page

I did search on-line also and found a couple of other people asking the same question but no one seems to know the answer. There was some suggestion that the module didn't need a battery and that it had some kind of 'flash' memory.
I have emailed EMU support through their website but have had no reply yet.

Cheers

Yes, there is nothing that looks like a battery there, so perhaps it doesn't require one.
