I need to treat my new space. I don’t want to use rock wool….
I’ve had some input off other forums who suggested CARUSO-ISO-BOND
Anyone use it or have experience with it?
Thanks !
Anyone using CARUSO-ISO-BOND for Sound Treatment?
Re: Anyone using CARUSO-ISO-BOND for Sound Treatment?
I've heard of it, and have heard and read good reports about it, but I've not actually used it myself, and I've not knowingly been in any studios that have used it.
I can see the hypo-allergenic appeal to those with health concerns over mineral wools, and it appears sufficiently rigid that it can be used without frames or outer coverings, if desired.
However, it is quite pricey. It appears to be roughly twice the price of similarly sized mineral wool slabs, which would make it a very expensive option for a decent studio installation.
I note that it's also getting on for half the density of 'standard' acoustic rockwool which might limit its performance somewhat. (The most dense version appears to be 40kg/m^3 whereas the 'normal' acoustic rockwool (RW3) is 60kg/m^3.)
If you do use it, please report back on your experiences.
