JBL EON618S vs. JBL PRX715XLF

Post by Normonster »

Hey Sound Guys!

I have two EON610's and I'm going to pick up a sub to fillout the sound for playback of recorded tracks, maybe some casual DJ work. The main use of the speakers though is for solo/acoustic performances.

Does anyone have an input on the EON618S vs. the PRX715XLF?

I like the idea of a matched system and both boxes are on sale right now....just the PRX is on sale by a much larger margin, and I really like good deals.

JBL pro support didn't have much to offer....just that the 18 will provide more "bass".

Which would you buy and why?

EON618S is normally 799 on sale for 749
PRX715XLF is normally 999 on sale for 699

Buy the PRX715, You don't need the extra low end the 18"s produce 90% of the time (and you don't need it the other 10% either really, it's just nice to have) PRX subs are decent kit, better IMO than the Eons, very nearly as loud, a lot lighter and probably a little more robust.

Still mourning the loss of my 'Jedi Poster" status :)
