Hi. I’m considering getting some new speakers and just need some advice of which would be best to get. Speakers I’m looking at are, EV etx12, Martin audio x 12 and Xd 12. We are a 4 piece band, keys/bass , guitar and drums. Most of the gigs are small indoor concerts of around 250 people. We have two 18 subs that we could use in bigger halls, but for most of the gigs we will be going with just the two tops. We don’t need a lot of volume just need something that’s sounds good.

Well, everyone has an opinion, and here's mine. I use small, fast speakers for the tops up to 10" max until there's more low frequency required and then I add subwoofers. 12" speakers are not going to give much thump if you try to mic the drums, bass, etc. And they are SLOW for vocals and anything with detail. Not a good compromise. I'd use small and light tops and 1 of your big ass subs for small gigs.
