Any small near throw deep bass speaker exists?

Guys, I have had this predicament for a long time now where I need a bass which can sound deep "right around the speaker" and not travel. To add to this I am thinking something portable would be best so I will be able to use it both in my detached garage when I am hanging out in there and also in the yard so it will not bother those inside the house.

I have a Sony surround sound in the garage and had also tried a Bose system but the garage itself seems to act like a speaker and amplifies the bass so both surround sound subs sounds like an 18".

I may have to get 2 different speakers or setup for each situation so what's available nowadays guys which I can look into please?

This is to combat sound escaping to annoy the neighbours? If so I fear you are on a hiding to nothing. Bass speakers radiate more or less omnidirectional and bass is not much impeded by light weight construction material so a prefab garage would do little to keep the noise in (even if it was well sealed to prevent air leakage which allows all frequencies to escape).

You CAN build speaker systems that are directional at low frequencies.
This involves multiple power amps and phase shift networks.

Note, such systems produce the usual "microphone" patterns, cardiod, figure 8 so you can only have a null in one or two directions...Can't please all of......
