Live Sound Virtual Meetup?
Live Sound Virtual Meetup?
Hi everyone,
The idea has been floated in the Lounge that we could do some sub-forum/sub-topic Zoom meetups during Lockdown II (this time it's personal). I am happy to host and, as I do a bit of live sound, thought I'd float the idea here.
Would people be interested? If so, any preference for day of the week?

I'm always up for a chat but it would depend on fitting around other stuff.

Possibly... early in the week is better for me, especially now I've had to ramp up podcast and videocast production for Sunday activities.

I’d be up for that. For me, like Drew, it depends on fitting around other stuff at the moment.
The hours I work are irregular at best so I’ll see if I can make myself available

I've checked my diary and that seems to be the case.

I'd be interested, but it will depend on children and wife! Make a decision on time and date and I'll see if I can make it

Anyone brave enough to put a day)time on this or are we still waiting for clearance from the technical advisors?

Re: Live Sound Virtual Meetup?
How about Monday the 16th? at about 8/8.30ish? Or do we want it sooner?
I'm usually free by about 8.30 so I'm fairly relaxed. Wednesday is the only evening that might be an issue.

Mondays are generally good and that's a handy time.
That gives us a little time to share tech wisdom on how to hook up the various bits and pieces that might be useful.
I've done some exploring of acoustic guitar and similar soundboard instrument amplification which might be useful to someone, happy to share the few nuggets.

Of course, the first ten minutes will consist entirely of a group of guys sat in front of their computer going...
Now, where did I put my coat?

I’ll be working late that night. I can only do Thursday that week but please don’t feel the need to work around me - I could well end up working that night too!

Thanks! Looks like that will rule me out since I'm on the wrong side of the world (and some days it truly feels that way!) Hopefully the meeting is a great success. Thanks again
Re: Live Sound Virtual Meetup?
Guys, are we still up for this? If so, I'll set up a Zoom link and post it this afternoon / evening.

Hi Dave
The regular SoSMeet via Zoom is this Wednesday evening. So it might be better to be planning for next week which is the SoSMeet 'Fallow' week.

I would be likely to turn up, but as a spectator really, Last time I played live was early 1970s, so I don't really have anything to contribute.

Seemingly no longer an 'elderly'.
Now a 'Senior'. Is that promotion?

Let's do this next week then as Mike suggests. Remember all are more than welcome to the main meet on Wednesday evening!

Hi All again,
So are we all still up for a natter tomorrow night? The general idea is to chat, share war stories, pick each others brains, and generally have a laugh and puts names to faces.
If we are are still go, then the idea is that in this thread, I'll post a link to a thread in the Musicians Lounge as that is a private lounge for members and that means that the link / credentials aren't out there on the public interweb for any naughty munchkins to hijack...
