Nomad Factory plugins any good?

Don't Crack are doing a special on the Integral III plugin pack for $99: http://store.dontcrack.com/product_info.php?manufacturers_id=39&products_id=898

This seems a bit of a steal, the SOS articles seem to quite like the ones they have looked at.

What is the opinion here?

Wow, that's the sort of price reduction usually quoted only by Everest salesmen.

Many of them come free with Sonar. I tried them out when I reviewed it a while back and remember thinking they were pretty good. At that price you'd only need to get regular use out of a couple of them to make it worthwhile.

These are also the basis for the effects in the Spectrasonics instruments (Omnisphere, Stylus RMX etc), so that should also speak highly of Nomad's algorithms...

I tend to find the modelling of their plugins to be extreme, which tends to make them useful for special effects eg MAGNETIC II has a huge 'retro' impact (eq and saturation). Whereas Slate / Waves tape plugins are more refined tools.

Check out MAGNETIC II, COSMOS and ECHOES.

I endorsed them when they formed and I have used some of their bundles and they were good.

From Nomad Factory's website:

Do I Need An ILok, Pace, Syncrosoft Or Hardware Key To Use Nomad Factory Products? No, you can authorize up to 3 computers without any hardware keys or third party protection systems. Nomad Factory products use a proprietary and easy to use authorization system.

Better and better.

I was very tempted by this bundle until I took myself outside for a stern word about the weakest link in my audio chain being the general space between my tragi.

Yeah but come on ... can't you just feel your credit card warming up in its holster? It's not whether you need it or even whether it will improve your mixes, it's whether it's a bargain!

I would be tempted to go to the Nomad page on Don't Crack and buy a little more specifically than the whole bundle. That's not to say there are bad effects/tools here, but they have a sound that works for some things and not for others. All their stuff is on offer at the moment.. Magnetic is good, and Echoes.. and some of their eq stuff works well. Dave

I had a look. They do a bundle with Cosmos, Magnetic II and Echoes for a sale price of $59.

Seems rude not to spend another $40 for the lot.
