I've recently bought a nord lead rack 2x and a midi keyboard but can't get any sound out of the rack! i've linked them both up with 3 midi cables that run (what i believe) is the right way round, and then into the midi interface.
I'm convinced that its just a setting in logic cause all the lights appear to work but theres just no sound.
Please could someone give me a step by step guide as to how to get it working?
Or any advice would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks.

I don't mean to sound patronizing, but you have connected the audio outputs on the Nord Lead to the inputs on your audio interface/sound card haven't you?

Re: NORD LEAD RACK 2X
there are two parts to this, getting the midi data to the Nord rack, and getting the audio out of the nord rack to your monitoring system.
(1) to get midi into the Nord rack, you only need one midi cable. Connect this midi cable from either your sequencer midi out port, or a controller midi out (if there is no sequencer involved) directly to the Nord rack midi in port.
the trigger LED lights up when it is receiving midi!.. is it lighting up when you send midi data from your controller?.. if not, then your midi is not configured properly! (check midi channels and midi cables).
(2) now, you need to connect the audio line out to a suitable mixer, or monitoring system, or back into your computer/DAW/sequencer to be mixed in the box..
There is a trigger button on the Nord rack, if you press it can you hear a sound from your speakers? if not, then either the Nord rack is not setup properly (check volumes, envelope attacks, filters etc.), or your monitoring system is not setup properly (check audio cables, volumes, etc).
You only *need* to use the Midi In port on the Nord rack... the Midi Out port would be used if you wanted to send midi data from the Nord back into the sequencer, and the Midi Thru port would be used if you want to forward the midi In data to another midi device.

Re: NORD LEAD RACK 2X
thanks for your help guys, i was being an idiot and not connecting the audio output - although it doesnt mention this in the instructions!
one more thing - i want to record with the nord using midi, and it works with regard to recording in (i.e. you can see the notes in the piano roll screen in logic) but when i try and play back in logic, there is no sound.
Can you help?

well, it mentions the audio out jacks on page 8 of this pdf manual. It kind of assumes that you already know some basics about connecting audio devices like this.

Have you got the midi out from your computer connected to the Nord rack (via a midi cable)? ...is the trigger light on the Nord rack flashing when you send it midi data?
is your midi track in logic set to the right midi channel/port?

Re: NORD LEAD RACK 2X
its set up like this:
MIDI OUT FROM KEYBOARD - MIDI IN ON THE NORD
MIDI OUT FROM THE NORD - MIDI IN ON THE INTERFACE
AUDIO OUTPUT A - INPUT 1 ON THE INTERFACE
the only other connection available was to put MIDI OUT FROM INTERFACE - MIDI IN ON THE KEYBOARD
the trigger light flashes yeah, and the midi channel is set to channel 1.

The Nord won't be recieving MIDI from your sequencer that way
I'll presume that you're not using the keyboard for its sounds here....
Midi out from keyboard>Midi in on the interface.
Midi out from the interface>Midi in on the Nord.
Then set up your sequencer so that it outputs the incoming MIDI from the keyboard to the Nord.
Ideally though, you should have a MIDI interface with two pairs of MIDI I/O, then each MIDI device could have it's own pair of connectors.
