Hi Guys
Ive been offered admission into NYU(Masters of music in music technology) and Georgia Tech(masters of science in music technology), I would appreciate inputs on both these universities and their respective courses....NYU ofcourse is more focused on music, music production etc and GeorgiaTech is more research driven.....my interests lie more towards the NYU side(60-40)....however I do not know too much about what makes each course stand out. Im hoping that a trip to these universities later this month will give me some clarity.
I would appreciate any advice on the job scene once i would graduate from either of the universities with this degree...my first choice would definitely be in the line of audio engineering, but I have to keep in mind that I have a student loan to pay off, so if not what sort of opportunities are available....
I know graduates from Georgia Tech go on to work at Sennheiser,Bose,Digidesign etc....still finding out about NYU...buts its mainly studios from what I can see from the website...
Opinions? Advice?
Thanks a lot guys
Cheers
Blue

I suspect that you may get a more informed answer on a more US oriented forum as most of the people here are more au fait with UK educational institutions. The forums at Pro Sound News are generally more civilised than most US forums.

I can answer the job prospects question: There are none and haven't been for a while. Don't do this course if you think it's going to get you a job afterwards. Do the course because it's going to give you something you couldn't get if you didn't do the course, whatever it is.
Congrats on getting onto the course though. I tried to get onto some US masters courses a while back and got flat rejections all 'round.
