NuSystems problems?

Post by MattW66 »

Hi All,
(Hope this is in the right forum - mods please move if necessary.)
Just wondering if anyone else has had any trouble getting a refund out of Nuystems? I returned an Alesis Micron to them (damaged, return agreed with NuSystems) 36 days ago and despite numerous phone calls and emails, am still waiting to get my money back. They keep telling me that my refund 'has been processed' and that I should get my money 'very soon', but still nothing in the bank. Does this sound reasonable?

I'm at the end of my tether and am considering legal action as a last resort.

best
Matt

Someone may be along to move this... but in the mean time, I recommend you try trading standards. I take it you're in the UK?

Hi,
Yes I am in the UK - I had thought about trading standards - I 'll give it a go.

Anyone else had any experiences like this with NuSystems?

Always been good with me (2 purchases), but like all these companies, it's only when something goes wrong that you find out what they are made of.

never had that problem with Nusystems!

bought some Alesis Mk2's off them a year or so ago, although they went wrong after the warranty ran out -.-"

Although i am having the same problem your having with ....
quit surprisingly ... Turnkey!

i ordered some items, they werent in stock and i was waiting ages so i cancelled the order, but they took 10% of the order out of my bank and i was told it was going to be refunded but hasnt

my friend ordered some stuff off turnkey also, he had an automated email that actually said one mic was in stock and the other wasnt, he kept emailing them and got no reply even though they took £59 out of his account .... then he rang them up and the guy said he'd ring him back once he found out what was going on.... but he didnt and hes now emailed them asking for a refund and to cancel the order!

which is why i now prefer just going into my local soundcontrol because its the closed store of its kind and the guys there always sort me out with a deal and stuff :bouncy:

Hi Adam,
Well, a fax to NuSystems stating my intention to pursue a county court claim seems to have dome the trick and I finally got the refund yesterday - 38 days after the synth was returned - not great service....

It's not even as if it was returned just because I'd changed my mind - it arrived full of scratches and with half the box contents missing - an obvious ex-demo or customer return.

Ah well, at least I finally got my money back - hope you and your friend do too.

And, like you, I went to Sound Control and got myself an 'actually new' Micron - cost £15 more than NuSystems, but worth it for the peace of mind of being able to deal with real people (especially in the event of problems).

cheers

Glad you got your refund finally! you have sure been waiting alot longer than me!

spent alot of money at sound control recently and im very glad considering problems ive had with Turnkey, although Digital Village seem to be ok, although there isnt a store near me at all!

Re Turnkey. After a recent bout of "Turnkey problems" were listed on SOS problems and knowing a number of people who were having problems I contacted Media Sales (Turnkeys parent company)and was assured that the current issues were temporary (basically internet sales have no way of knowing what they had in stock at anyone time) - I was assured that if I had further problems I should contact the management team directly.

Now I spend or recommend £100,000 + of purchases each year so I tend to get attention when I complain but it might be worth other people making contact - at least then the management team know the scale of the problem - so try emailing

mick.hughes@mediatools.co.uk

he is the guy who has been appointed by Mediasales to sort these problems at Turnkey out and he invited direct contact in event of problems.

I have stopped recommending Nusystems to clients - they can sell boxes but do not appear to have the staff to deal with problems.

Hi Matt,

I am new to this website and it is the only one I have found that has anything that might help me in my quest to try and make contact with IHeadphones who are a subsidiary of NUSystems LTD... I recently bought 2 pairss of headphones from this company at £25 a pop... one pair for myself and one for my boyfriend... my boyfriend realised after the first use that he was unable to use the headphones at the gym on the treadmill as he kept receiving electric shocks from the metal pieces that surround the otuter shell of the earpiece... so I decided to see if I could somehoe return the goods (well within my legal rights to do so within a certain period of time)... I have emailed (which have bounced back), I have logged my complaint all over their website... no reply, I have tried callingtheir phoney customer care number which actually never works (0870 350 4500) and have heard absolutely nothing from them... I think this is appalling customer care and really worries me that thye;re getting away with this! I'm really not sure what to do about it... perhaps I too will regitser the complaint with the Trading Standards... how did you get on with this process yourself? :?

Thanks,

Sarah

Hi Sarah,

In the end after several emails and phone calls (no response), I faxed them stating my intention to pursue a county court claim. This seemed to rattle their cage enough to get an email response (and a subsequent phone call). I got my money back on my returned synth some 38 days after sending it back and the whole experience has ensured that I wouldn't touch NuSystems or their other subsidiaries again at any cost. Like many on-line only companies, everything is great until you need to return or exchange - then it all goes pear shaped and you realise that their low prices mean that they can't actually afford decent customer service.

However, this isn't much help to you! I'd suggest a fax stating that you intend to bring the matter up with the local trading standards (emails are too easy to ignore). Make sure you keep records of all emails / phone calls (even if fruitless) and don't give up!

Good luck
Matt
