Anyone know of a good place to get them?
I've had a good look on eBay and on google - but cheapest threaded ones are £3 each from the UK, or unthreaded flat ones from ebay for 99p.
I had a few but the last one just got stolen from a student today..
Any names / places would be great!
I'm looking to buy 4 or more as they keep 'going missing'..
Cheers!
[btw.. the headphones are Beyerdynamic DT250s, gold thread if poss..]

I would get the proper ones from Beyer.
A am *very* wary of cheapies.
I had a cheapie come apart inside the jack socket once and the tip stayed inside the socket and could not be removed - in the end it cost £50 to repair.
Cheap can be expensive.

I'd agree with John - they Beyer and Sennheiser adaptors I've used have been more reliable than the one or two cheapies that I've tried.

You probably don't want to hear this, but the best thing you can do is remove the jack and replace it with a decent Neutrik 1/4".
The reasons being are three fold...
1. As you have found to your detriment, the adapters go walk about far to easily and you can't fit a standard adapter because of the thread.
2. Even if you don't lose the adapter, it will inevitably become so loose that any movement from the attached cable will constantly unscrew it and cause the connection to become intermittent.
3. The plastic relief on the molded jack will eventually break as the flat cable only allows for movement in two directions and in turn leads to cable damage. This will be after several years of loyal usage, but it will happen.
If you require your headphones for use with mini jacks as well, then get a decent all metal 6.3mm to 3.5mm adapter.

Re: 3.5 to 6mm headphone threaded adapters
I posted the same question here at the SOS Forum a couple of years ago. I got the same answer - buy original branded replacement (my headphones were from Sony).
As the Sony distributor wanted more than £30 for a Sony adaptor, including freight, and the adaptors could not be found at any Sony distributor (not even at Sony Centers) I ended up using cheapies. That is, until I found an alternative. I now use adaptors from Thomann, article no 165014. Works great, has not caused me any problems and are definately a better alternative than cheapies. Could be worth investigating.

Thanks for the reply, but I've had these headphones for 5 years and the thread remained true until the day the adapter got snaffled.. so I don't really want to be changing out the end for the sake of £5.
Thanks for the rest of the replies - seems like it's worth getting a proper one.
Cheers!
