I have a problem dowloading from the IK Multimedia site

Post by Big_al »

Hi all,

I decided to grab the offer of $15 for a copy of their Miroslav Philharmonik CE instrument and I've paid my money, got the codes and now when I try and download the software via the link on their site I'm getting the error '403 forbidden' WTF? I am on a Mac 10.5.8 and Safari. I tried in Firefox and Wyzo and turned off the firewall but still no joy. Anyway I've managed to download the actual plugin via Internet Explorer in Virtual PC but when I try and download the sounds in I.E. sweet f.a. happens! Double WTF! Does anyone know how to get round this because at the mo I feel that a company that cannot even make their site to work on a Mac is pretty p**s poor if you ask me!

Just an idea but a friendly email works well with these companies.

IK have always been very good with me and gave me a cracking deal on the total effects bundle when i contacted them via email. I also managed to get them to give me the Miroslav orchestra when it wasnt part of their deal because I already owned the plugins on offer.

So give them an email and explain the problem. They will probably sort you out a link to get the files from pretty quickly.

Well this is a strange one, I tried to download on an Intel Mac laptop and got the same problem but it's downloading now on the same machine in XP through Parallels.

Weird! Never mind it's all sorted now.

So might "I may have a problem dowloading from the IK site" have been a more appropriate albeit somewhat less dramatic subject title?

It was up and down like a yoyo all weekend by all accounts. Seems they've had a fairly good response to the Miroslav offer the last few days which has been taking it out on the servers. I managed to get my copy downloaded Saturday morning after a few problems on Friday night and I'm quite happy with it for a tenner.

An old thread but this describes the problem I've been having with the $29 Sonik Synth 2 Offer.

I couldn't even get the Authorization Manager without a '403' error. Support kindly emailed it to me but of course when you run Authorization Manager it takes you to the same IK Multimedia download page and then '403' again.

Support say to turn off all firewalls, turn browser to accepting all cookies. I did this briefly, to no avail in both Firefox12 and IE9

Did anyone manage to get a resolution to this apart from downloading Chrome?

regards

Not much help from IK Multimedia support.

However, downloading Chrome and using it worked finally. It doesn't make me want to buy more stuff from them to be honest

It wasn't the only sale they had over the weekend.

They had Sonic Synth on sale for $29.99, $200 off the normal price.

Large download, with 10 downloads for the library!!

I waited until after midnight, to do my download worked fine with firefox.

8-)

I agree, and will change the original post title accordingly ;)
