People that know about monitors - KMR Audio

Post by johnny h »

There are lots of negative threads around about bad service and things like that, so I think its good to occasionally have a more positive thread to highlight one of the gems of the music technology industry - KMR Audio.

They don't even have on display rubbish but popular gear such as the (heavily advertised) Mackie speakers, but only products which they have total faith in.

What's more, they are able to explain exactly why they have the opinions they do, and are able to back it up with huge amounts of real world experience.

So anyone who is looking for monitors, get off the web, don't look at the adverts, just get down there are talk to people who genuinely know what they are talking about!

They were great with me recently regarding getting hold of a single Avantone Mixcube, which wasn't easy!

I've used them for a long time and what I really like is that they totally understand their clients. They don't hard sell, they just let you try stuff, talk it through and make your decision in your own time. I've never ever felt any pressure to spend, and although I am a reasonably regular buyer, I've equally had long periods when I've not bought any of the stuff they've sent over (at their own expense). Their response..."No worries mate, maybe next time'. They are good guys.

Well, in particular, about trying a zero mix to test any tracking as a litmus of whether to re-track, which is IMHO is a good leveller (and not in an English civil war sense)... ;)
