Does anyone know where I might be able to find new elastic bands for my AKG C422b mic mount (H 15/33)?
Failing that, does anyone know of a good universal mic mount for an AKG C422b?

Rycote do a good universal mic mount. They do a couple of different models and if I remember correctly, they have a database of which mic goes which which holder. I got one and think they are a really good bit of kit
Cubase, guitars.

I'd also strongly recommend the Rycote Studio In-Vision kit -- the C422 will need the Medium size version.

Thomann though there is a £10 shipping fee for orders under £200, so you might like to have a dig though the kitchen drawers for some odd bits of 'lazzy.'

Re: AKG Mic mount
If I recall correctly, the C422 style of shock mount uses nitrile O-rings, not elastic. The advantage being that they don't stretch and sag.. but they do dry-out and crack/split!
You can find suitable O-rings quite easily on the net if you know the required size, for example:
http://www.polymax.co.uk/acatalog/NBR_O-Rings.html
However, that design of shockmount doesn't provide much in the way of useful shock-proofing in my experience. The Rycote design -- although more expensive than a set of new O-rings -- is a properly engineered solution that works remarkably well. Also, it won't ever wear out, unlike anything with elastics or o-rings!

Re: AKG Mic mount
I'm sold on the new mic mount. I never really liked the plastic threads on the C422b mount anyways.
Does anyone know if Rycote has a Canadian distributor? If there isn't one, I can get my friend in Manchester to pick one up and mail it to me, but it would be easier to just buy it here in Canada.
Thanks,
Peter

Re: AKG Mic mount
Thanks everyone. My Rycote mount finally arrived, and I am quite happy with it.
It is certainly superior to the much more expensive AKG replacement.
