ALESIS MASTERLINK ML-9600 HARD DISK RECORDER
ALESIS MASTERLINK ML-9600 HARD DISK RECORDER
Hello. I have question. Let´s say I record 24bit 96khz file with this device. Firstly, can I save this file to normal cd-r or does it have to be something special? Secondly, can I open this file with with pc cd-rom for further editing, mp3 etc.? Do I rip it from cd or is it wav format or what? Thanks.

You will have to convert the file to 16 bit 44.1kHz if you want to write a standard audio CD. You can write a data CD at 96kHz 24 bit which will then be readable on a computer (and possibly certain DVD players). I think the Masterlink can write .wav files but I'm not absolutely certain.

The non-redbook cd it makes can be read easily on a computer or can be imported into Protools etc. I think it is .aiff, but yes either .aiff or .wav they are on a standard iso9660 cd
