It's amazing how many people equate the concept of "wanting" something with the concept of "needing" something... ;)

I went a different route and took a punt on the hardware Duende (having a spare slot in my Mac Pro). Wow. Very nice. However much I love my Liquid Mix, having one channel strip of a decent quality that I can spend time with has been a real eye opener. For drums it really seems to suite me nicely and I'm starting to finally get results that I'm happy with.

Go on ... spend the money .. you can't take it with you ... you'd only spend it on beer / tabs .... it's an investment in your studio .... these days it's not a lot ...

Still want more excuses/reasons..?

I strongly suspect it's not "excuses/reasons" Wease is lacking as much as pictures of the Queen...

I use the native buss compressor and channel strip, and all my mixes have them now - couldn't work without them(!)

I have yet to hear a buss compressor that sounds anything like as good as the Duende plugin. I've got a UAD card, and I've demoed alternatives but nothing comes close.

The Duende was originally released as a PCIe card.
