Lion compatibility.

Post by Raystrack »

East West 'Play' range - Orchestra, Gypsy, Pianos etc. Spectrasonics. Kontakt 4. Logic Pro 9.

I currently use OSX 10.6.8 but have to have Lion / Mountain Lion with a new iMac I'm buying.

Has anyone had any problems running any of the listed software with Lion?

well, I can confirm Logic 9 works ok, but thats hardly suprising since its Apple's own software.. but the other software titles you mention I haven't used with Lion so I can't confirm one way or t'other.

google is your friend!

Seems that East-West play is compatible - you have to download the upgrade to play 3
spectrasonics is also compatible
as is all Native instruments software

Lion is quite well established now - I don't think there are very many 'current' software titles that arn't compatible (or have an update available) - it's some of the older programmes that arn't as forgiving!

I think you'll be ok -

As for mountain lion - that's not out yet, so if you buy your Mac before Autumn, you should be ok!

As always - when upgrading, check your 3rd party plugin manufacturers websites before hand to see whats good or what needs an upgrade :D

Mountain Lion is out later this month (July). So if you want your new Mac to come with Lion instead of ML, then you should get it sooner rather than later
