Cheap and cheerful stage piano wanted!

Post by Andy McBain »

Hi all,

My Mum's old Yamaha stage piano just went boom today. She's after a new one but doesn't want to spend too much - hence we're looking at 2nd hand options. Requirements are very simple; 88 weighted keys, a MIDI output, a decent piano sound and no fancy extras!

Any one got any recommendations? :)

Many thanks in advance!

I take it that you also want speakers on that...

What sort of price are you looking at paying?

For a model with built-in speakers, the Casio ones seem OK and for a true stage piano without speakers, the Korg SP250 has a good action but the piano sounds themselves aren't fantastic. There's a cheapish Yamaha but I can't recall the model straight off. A quick Google or trawl through Amazon will bring it up, I expect. To be honest, at the lowest prices it's hard to anything that's great all round.
