Where are my Guitar Rig Presets?

Hi,

I'm having trouble locating my Mac's Guitar Rig Presets. For other plugins it's easy enough to find them in Logic's 'Plug-in Settings' folder, but for some reason there's no folder for Guitar Rig. I've searched for some of the names of my saved settings with spotlight to no avail....help!

Logic's plugin-settings are for Logic's own plugin settings, not GR presets.

Surely GR should present you with it's presets in it's own preset-browser?

Try
/Library/Application Support/Native Instruments/
/Library/Audio/Presets/Native Instruments/
~/Library/Application Support/Native Instruments/
~/Library/Audio/Presets/Native Instruments/

Spotlight searches need the additional option "Include System Files" ticked otherwise it won't search system locations and therefore not find this stuff.

Hi Johnny,

I don't have a mac so please forgive this PC based info if it's completely unhelpful!!

On the PC, the presets have a file extension of ngrr

They are located in C:\Program Files\Common Files\Native Instruments\Guitar Rig 5\Sounds

Which is a pretty strange place to put them and I'd not have found them without knowing the preset extension, so I live in hope that in Mac land this extension info helps you. Apologies in advance if not

Thanks Gary - I think I checked the equivalent location to no avail....

Desmond - I've checked those locations with no luck...I'm referring to settings saved via Logic, not using Guitar Rig's browser btw. But your Spotlight tip should sort it when I get back in the studio tomorra...so cheers!

Ok, you don't mean Guitar Rig's presets, you mean the settings you have saved as Logic presets. Most likely in:

~/Library/Application Support/Logic/Plug-In Settings/GuitarRig etc

unless you've saved them as channel strips...

You sure you are looking in the user library, not the root library?

You can always do a "Save settings as..." in Logic which opens a dialog box onto the save folder. It's most likely:
~/Library/Audio/Presets/Native Instruments/GuitarRig etc as I mentioned above.

Remember, that's the Library folder in your user home folder, not the root Library folder.

Hi, I have had the same problem as yours. Usually, right after the installation, guitar Rig presets are missing. I have done some ways to recover it. some of them were found from forum and just doing well. They work well. however sometimes it doesn't work for some computers and users. So, I decided to solve it manually. here is what I have done:
