Suitable SSDs for boot devices

Post by OneWorld »

I am seeing quite a few of these SSDs advertised for sale....

thin usata

Would they functiona as a Win7 boot drive?

What is 'thin usata'?

On another site, a user said he was getting Win7 to boot in 7 seconds!

Yes, they would serve as a boot disk for Windows 7. The thin ones I believe are the models made for ultra thin portable MACs and Ultrabooks - the latest thinnest machines. That said, if you're putting it into a desktop or normal laptop, then the normal 2.5" SSDs are probably better. Still slim and thin, and the same size as regular laptop hard disks.

As regards brands, I'd personally recommend either Crucial or Samsung. They have the best reviews for consistency. I can vouch for that from experience.
