Converting old tape reels to digital...

Hi all.

We've had some old tape reels sitting around for 30 odd years which apparently feature my Grandad (who's no longer here) playing piano on.

I'm not exactly sure what type they are but I'll try and provide all the info I can...

I have 2 "EMI Tape recording tape" reels which are 5 3/4" in diameter and one "Norman White Box Recording tape" which is 3" in diameter.

Does anyone know of any specialist services or can provide such services to convert these to CD for me and a rough idea of cost? I'm in the Essex area (UK) so preferably somewhere not too far to travel, but I will if need be.

These are probably low speed domestic mono or quarter-track tape recordings, and there are plenty of people around hat could transfer these for you. If you'd like to drop me an email I'd be happy to help out. Hugh at soundonsound dot com.
