I got my sockets and gear checked by my spark but he couldn't help with ground loops. Anyone got a contact for anyone near Liverpool that would have knowledge to help me? I'm not even sure what I need, a studio engineer, electronic engineer.

He's not 'near Liverpool' but only a couple of hours away is Max. And he knows a thing or two about which bits of wire should go where in a studio. If you are interested, then drop me a PM and I'll send his details over.
