Well I posted some time ago about this but the problem persists and continues to do my head in. Most times of late when the PC is booted, the Komplete 6 usb light flashes on and off indicating no audio. I have to unplug the usb power lead for a moment and plug back in which gets it online and ready for audo. It seems now that that alone is not enough and after unplugging the usb power lead, plugging back in it is unresponsive and continues to flash.
I have no idea why this happens but I wish I purchased a different audio interface as NI are pretty unhelpful. I have all the drivers etc up to date. The system is Windows 7 Home premium 64 bit.

Re: Komplete 6 headache
Hy
I use mine Komplete 6 (I bought a week ago) with windows 7 32 bit with no problems. I had a few problems at the start, but after I made all setup it works perfect, go to Control panel/ Sound/ Playback and set Komplete Audio 6 Main Output your Default Device and Default Communications Device. If it's still do problems, go to Disable USB energy saving mode from here http://www.native-instruments.com/en/support/knowledge-base/show/800/ni-audio-interface-troubleshooting-guide-pc/
All the best

Re: Komplete 6 headache
Thanks. I will try that. It seems to happen in fits and starts.
Re: Komplete 6 headache
In NI control panel I use 44100 sample rate, process buffer 512 (if I use lower it's blocking sometimes), 1ms Usb buffer. With these settings Sistem performance test it's show a very low latency. When I play a song with Traktor pro 2 the latency is under 150 micro seconds.
Re: Komplete 6 headache
So far it hasn't stopped it but it's annoying it's intermittent. I also find I get clicks and pops with audio sometimes. NI need to check their QC.
Re: Komplete 6 headache
Now it does it everytime I boot the machine.

" the Komplete 6 usb light flashes on and off indicating no audio"
This is symptomatic of the USB bus not giving the unit enough power. It will not start, and this is indicated by the flashing LED.
You can try making sure it is not plugged in to a powered USB hub (one which has it's own mains PSU and DC input), or connecting it directly to a USB port on your computer.
With regard to audio glitches, please be aware that many ports are internally shared in the computer itself, and trying on a different port may help. There may be an indication in your motherboard manual which USB ports are shared with each-other, and also with the internal devices such as on-board display adapters. Trying to find one which is not shared with another high-bandwidth peripheral may help with glitches in audio.
The support guys should be normally pretty good, there is also some very detailed instructions on troubleshooting these types of problems on the NI website. If they give you any guff let me know, I'll pop down and sort 'em out!

Re: Komplete 6 headache
I have tried different ports every which way but to no avail. It seems intermittent which makes it harder to diagnose. Having to pull out the usb connection to power off the K6 and on again every time it happens will eventually cause wear and tear on the socket.
Re: Komplete 6 headache
Sounds like it might be worth trying one of those USB Y cables that let you take power from more than one port in order to bump up the available current. They're often used with external hard drives that need a decent amount of current to start up.
