Need a simple fade transition between videos
Need a simple fade transition between videos
Hi, I'm wanting to add some visuals to our gigs, but I want to do it very simply: edit some visuals as video files and transition between videos with a fade when we change songs. I was hoping I could do it with Keynote or some default app that's on my macbook, but when you switch slides on keynote, the videos freeze until the transition is complete. Does anyone have any ideas? I'm not interested in getting technical with visuals at this stage, since I've got enough on my plate with the performance aspect. Just something I can press a button between songs to switch the visual.

Hi Konrad,
Have a look here - http://www.mix16apps.com
I use the iPad version for video playback, and it allows fades to be set per video. I assume the Mac version does too.
And it's simple enough not to get in the way when also playing.

Not sure you can do video crossfades on the free version, but yes a basic video license would certainly do it, which could be rented for about $3/day to try it out if needed.
You could also look at software like ProPresenter, or most VJ software I would imagine would do this.
