Hi dear friends, thank you for you kind support!
I have a small portable studio for singing, I need something for my microphone.. an expander (gate), equalizer, compressor, reverb, de esser.. and this device seems suitable because cheap and offer quite all. But I would ask something before buy, does someone tested it?
Thank you a lot!
1) The input can be -10dBV or +4dBu, at -10dBV can I connect directly a dynamic microphone? I read somewhere its mevel is about -70dBV so I suppose not, I need an external preamplifer, but I guess I can create easly one with a low noice operational amplifer.
2) How much is the rate of compressor? I read in the instruction it can be regulated from 1.25 to 100, is it 100:1? Is it real? It's amazing high.
3) This device has several effects, but I suppose if I select one of it I can't use then others, yes? The instructions are divided in macro groups, Reverb, delays, Dynamics, Modulation, etc.etc. Can I use one function for each group? Will it support one setting/effect for each group? Since I need expander (gate), equalizer, compressor, reverb, de esser, can I have all of them in awhile?
4) In case I would connect two microphones, and I set all these effects separately for the two channels? I suppose some effects yes, some others not. Have you ideas about it?
5) How you would evaluate the global quality? I don't pretend to record my voice with it.. just to don't listen distortion or other artifacts while I'm singing.
Thank you a lot friends!
[Question] Behringer FX2000 Virtualizer 3D
Re: [Question] Behringer FX2000 Virtualizer 3D
searching I've found also Lexicon MX200, I think this is good brand and this model is cheap too, it has two processors but I'm afraid if I use compressor for example the same processor can't do more than that. So I would need one processor for compressor, another for reverb+chorus, another for de esser, and I'll not have equalization. Is it right?
Thanks
Thanks

You have posted in the Live Sound forum so I assume this is for live/gig use, if so what is the rest of your live rig?
However to answer you first couple of questions, you will need a mixer or mic preamp as you can't put a mic straight into either and, yes, the Lexicon can carry two stereo fx patchees at a time, not sure about the Berry but I'd guess it can too (I have used the Lexicon and it's a nice bit of kit but not the Berry so I can't comment on it).
I think the Berry is digital so 100:1 comp ratio is quite possible.
The Lexicon does have a 'dual mono' option so you can use it with two different fx on two separate busses/channels but you'll still need a mixer if you want to use microphones.

Just to add to what Sam has said...
100:1 is effectively a 'brickwall' limiter. At this setting whatever level you put in, the output will remain constant.
I had an earlier version of one of these... It was not at all intuitive to use and set-up. But maybe that's just me....

The Lexicon MX200 is good but only has 2 processors so will only do 2 effects at once (chorus and reverb count as 2). As Sam says you will need a mixer which will also do some equalisation and some mixers have compressors built in. An example of a separate low cost but reasonably flexible example of a compressor/expander might be the dbx 266xs. So those 3 together would probably do what you want.
Or, you could look at an integrated device such as the Behringer Xr12 or Soundcraft ui12 mixers which would include mic-pre, expander/compressor, eq, chorus & reverb and mixer in 1 box.

Good call RSG the XR series will do everything in one box. I have an XR12 and it's very usable.

Thank you all mates!!!! Thanks for supporting me!
Well I have already a mixer, so I'm focusing on effects only. You cleared my dubts about MX200, it can run only one effect per processor, so useless for me.
MYa main puropose is to have into a box (or rack) a compressor, (expander/gate also welcome), equalizer, chorus+reverb, and de esser.
Maybe I can find a quad processor for not that expensive price?
I'm a bit confused, since it's a bit unbelievable there aren't algorithms developed for DSP that do one than more task at once, for example my MPX500 is able to give me a chorus + reverb and with the new formware I have also a compressor (but max 10:1 which for the voice is not much). Any solution?
Yes the use is for live.
The FX2000 is able to execute more effects at once? I've read it has "four edit controls", but it not clear for me if for every edit I can place an effect there..
Thank you!

Mates, may moderators not hate me for that, I decided to open an open topic about finding what I need between brands, and not only ask about one effect only.
In the end what I need is the result, the brand doesn't matter much..
Anyway I hope someone can clear about FX2000 and how many effects in the same time it can run. Thank you a lot!

Apologies for the "semi-hijack"...but hopefully of general interest: Does anyone know if a hard reset "repopulates" the user (not internal/non-volatile) presets with 100 varied factory default sounds as shown in the Japanese manual?
I purchased a used-one, with a bunch of silly ring-modulator user-effects in the majority of the "second hundred"; but would like to default it back to the 'sounds' described in the manual, as a reset-baseline. Thanks in advance for any experiences!
