If anyone is teetering on the edge of investing in a Zoom F8 recorder... PinkNoise have a limited number of machines on a very attractive special offer at the moment which includes a bag and memory card:

I have no affiliation with the company other than having bought a few things from them in the past... just thought this looked like a very good price...

That's a pretty good deal alright.
Just bear in mind that Zoom are releasing the F8n very soon (in the next few weeks AFAIK) albeit at a higher price point.
It has some updated features that might sway you one way or the other.

indeed. see https://youtu.be/m9XYPJQ2CpM
However.... the F8 and F4 are good recorders for the money and even better value with a package deal. When I bought my F4 I effectively got the PFC-8 bag for free.
Just because a new version has come out it does not make the old one any worse.
The question is how essential are the new features and are they, to you, worth the extra?

The F8n is worth every extra penny to me, but that is because I am out using mine weekly so I get a lot of use out of it. And it is great that Zoom has addressed all the core complaints people had with the original F8 when they designed the new F8n.
However for more casual users the original F8 is going to be an amazing bargain, especially as prices get reflected on the secondhand market as the F8n comes to market, I've already seen $500 F8 secondhand! Which is just crazy cheap for all that you are getting.
