Yeah, that's what I was doing. I appear to have issues...

...with uploading photos. ;)

Anyway think I've got it sorted now. About to go and check yesterday's work.

Thanks folks.
There's a bit of fine tuning of the set-up to do but I think she's going to play nicely as well.

Cheers all, just needs a final polish once the oil has completely cured and a smidge off the nut.

That’s looking really nice, well done.

As a fully paid up member of the Bodger’s Union I have a mixture of admiration and envy when I see something like this. I hope that it plays as good as it looks

Oh don't worry, there have been plenty of bodges and corrections along the way! But I think I've got away with most of them.
There's some more set-up tweaking to be done but I'm going to let the neck settle in first and give it a couple of weeks. I think there's between half and a quarter of a mm still to come off the nut and a smidgen of a rise in the bridge.

 Wow well done Drew! Is there a prize or is it just the quiet satisfaction of a job well done? ;)

Have you gigged it yet or is it carefully packed in cotton wool?

Congratulations Drew. That's a good looking guitar. Hope you enjoy playing it as much as you obviously did building it.

Aw thanks fellas!
I was very pleasantly surprised to get the nod this month, it's just for kudos but I'm more than happy with that currency. :)
It has been sort of gigged once so far, my brother asked me to play a couple of songs at his wedding a couple of weeks ago so I thought that would be a suitable opportunity to show off. Ahem, sorry, test out the set-up in a live environment.
It's had a couple of tweaks since then and a dose of car-polish at the weekend.
I remain very chuffed with the outcome.

Thanks folks, sounds pretty full bodied and chunky as you'd expect. Not a huge range of tones, but again, that's what you'd expect.
There's a video somewhere, i'll fish out the link.

Thanks Garrettendi,
The next project is going to be a rebuild. I bought a cheap tele kit and a battery powered amp a couple of years ago and stuck the two together. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l-168_dviOw
However I never applied any finish to it and chunks of it are very rough. So the next guitar project will be to take it all apart again and do it properly. It actually plays quite nicely so there is the heart of a half-decent guitar in there.
But also on the list of projects is:
Finish the recording and mixing the current EP in progress.
Record and mix the next two EPs that I've got lined up.
Recycle bits of my old hifi amp and build into an auratone type speaker.
And we'll probably need to start on another band EP before too long as well.
So I'm not sure when I'll get round to it. Given the need to work in the garage it will probably be a summer project next year.

Oh yes, and here's the sample video of the new guitar: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fA-H3o-k90I&t=6s just on the camera phone so quality ain't great but it is illustrative.
I've stuck some slightly heavier strings on it now (and worked on the set up a bit) so it actually sounds a bit zingier now. The last bit is unplugged and that's where the difference is more pronounced. :)

Sounds pretty good. Handy guitar to travel with, acoustic for every day use and then plug it in if you wanted to do a gig or open mic thing. So many times i've been on holiday or something, usually just an acoustic and then someone asks me to (shut up) be louder :?

I love that book case.
