Hi
I have recently bought a Samson c control unit, but the adaptor wasn't included (2nd game off eBay). The unit requires 18v A.C. at 1000ma. I already have a 12v A.C. at 1000ma adaptor and was wondering if this would work? I know it shouldn't blow it as it's less voltage, but just thought I'd ask before pluging it in.
Any thoughts?

It may work in some instances as it will be all-analogue circuits, but you'll be loosing headroom so you will get signal degradation. It may also try to draw more current than normal as it doesn't have its usual voltage, which could affect the 12v PSU. You can get a suitable PSU from eBay for around £10-£15 at most, so it's really not worth the risk or the effect on your monitor signal.

You're highly unlikely to damage your Samson, but you do run a real risk of blowing up the PSU on account of the increased current draw (depends on the design of the PSU).
