Alan R. Pearlman, engineer and founder of the pioneering synth manufacturer ARP Instruments, died yesterday at the age of 93.

The world has lost a brilliant engineer. The ARP synthesizer was a brilliant product line with superb oscillators and filters. Pete Townshend did some wonderful work with the ARP 2500 and 2600 synths - they are all over Who's Next and Quadrophenia. Eliane Radigue also composed for the instrument.

RIP Alan and thank you for the inspiration.

Sad to see the passing of another pioneer. RIP.

I got the Bright Sparks film as a direct result of reading the SOS review and I loved it - definitely worth the modest fee they ask for it in my humble opinion.

With the late Robert Moog, they were responsible for taking synths onto the next level. Rest in peace.
