MAudio M-Track Eight

Post by Folderol »

I bought one of these last August, and it failed catastrophically within a week, but I got a no-quibble replacement, tested all functions and it was fine. I used it a couple of times for recording guitar and mic into the computer, but since then only used it for playback from the computer.

When I tried to use it for recording today it's silent. Direct out is fine, and playback from the computer is. My software shows the inputs, and appears to connect them correctly, but no data is coming through.

Has anyone else seen a similar problem, or got any suggestions as to what may be wrong?

Reliably fallible.

I sincerely hope not. The unit is advertised as USB 2, Audio Class Compliant and there was no mention of such controls in any literature.

Indeed, on their Q/A site there is this:

Will the M-Track Eight work with other DAW software?

Yes! Virtually any Mac OSX or Windows Digital Audio Workstation software capable of using USB audio interfaces will work with the M-Track Eight.

Yes. If something is identified as working without drivers on the mac, it's almost certain to do so on Linux, and at first this did.

I'm feeling a bit stupid now :(
Someone asked if I'd checked they hadn't been muted. Well, not muted but set to
zero

In my defence the output levels were still correct.
