Ableton Live 9, mp3 importing issue

Post by marumbra »

Hello,

So I use a laptop running Windows 10 and Ableton Live 9. I've been using my iPhone to record samples and send them over to my Windows 10 computer through Google Drive. When I try to drag the files into Ableton from its file browser menu, this message appears: "(File-name) could not be read, it is corrupted or unlicensed".

I tried everything the Ableton knowledge base suggested, but alas, the problem persists.

Thank you in advance.

Try Audacity, if that doesn't open them they are corrupted.
If it does open them you can then export them as .wav. Stuff "likes" .waves more.

If you are using your iPhone to record samples it would be wise to avoid lossy formats like MP3 anyway.

Linear PCM, Apple lossless, or FLAC would all be far better choices.
