As someone who knows what they'll have when they've made one, great! These mics are a lot more fun than the lo-fi plugins you can pick up.

Cheers,

Still mourning the loss of my 'Jedi Poster" status :)

People often mistake me for a grown-up because of my age.

Just as an aside here is the BM104 I built last year just for fun as a one off. Four capsules, two lofi and two dynamic, set in two suspended rows inside two hubcaps from a Hillman Super Imp. Sounds great on guitar amps.

Just a quick one, I sent a couple to I Speak Machine in LA and they used them on Sunday on a live broadcast. If you've not heard of them they are fantastic and well worth a listen.

Aha - Tara Busch and Maf Lewis - yes, I suspect they are well known here in the SOS Forums (and they are Facebook friends of mine ;) )

Gents both of them, they even did an unboxing video with the help of their dog Strelka. It might be a while till I can do a how to guide (Maybe in the summer.) but I'm going to do a stock check and I might have a few freebies. If you have a burning desire for one just drop me a line.

PS Musicradar put my pedalboard up on their site, if anyone out there plays guitar they might be interested. Mine is on the front page and page 9.

Just a quick one, I found an old Soundcloud account I forgot I had so I spruced it up and it has examples of my mic on plus a repost of I Speak Machine's War Pigs cover. I don't know if I'll be putting anything else up but I might post the isolated guitar lines from Demetrius and the other stuff I'm working on when I get a chance,

Gorgeously distorted sound on Tara's vocals there Owen! 8-)

Apologies if this has already been posted previously on this thread, but following my listen to the above, a quick Internet search also brought this more review-like link of the BM88 up ,and I enjoyed listening to that as well (particularly to the vocal sounds):

I can't listen to the track because it's been deleted.
But how about a megaphone through a distortion pedal?

Two for one:

Martin: Yes Russell did do a very good review, completely out of the blue as well I just knew someone who was going over to his studio and he asked me for a mic he could drop in his studio box. Very nice bloke.

Arpangel: I don’t know which track you mean but Tara’s is still up, here is the direct link:

and yes the old megaphone, Chumbawumba, Flaming Lips etc., through a distortion still works a treat.

Finally got round to rigging mine up at practice on Thursday - had to fight the urge to use it on every song! :)

It's brilliant for our stuff, one of those things we didn't realise we were missing until we had it.
Only challenges are rigging a sufficiently robust mic stand set up and i'll need to build a mute footswitch for it.
That's some way down the project list though...

I find the Audio Technica AT8471 clips work really well or any screw clamp type mic clip. I’ve also made a personal decision to stop answer emails and posts Dethniteblod since it makes me sound like a goth superhero.

Cheers, I'll have a look for one of them. My current collection are either too large or two small - naturally...
P.S. what's wrong with being a goth superhero? ;)

If you were looking to use it on a stand all the time and want to make it 100% secure you can unscrew the retaining screw at the bottom put some kind of sleeve with a hole in that's attached to a mic clip and then screw it back in (Basically just screw it to something.). The screw only holds the xlr in and stops it from rotating so you shouldn't do any damage by taking in and out. The next step up from using old parts was always going to be casting a custom mic case with a built in mic thread. I don't think I'll ever have enough money to do that and I can't show you the design because Tinkercad is on the fritz but I'll post up the designs sometime if anyone is interested.
