Any idea what this weird Guitar effect is?!

Hello everyone, newbie here!

I'm trying to find what possible Guitar pedal might be being used on this solo :

Not the Whammy but the glitchy, gargly, warbly sound that sounds like the Guitar is breaking down. If you listen to the other solo's in the video, it can be heard on some of them too. It sounds awesome and I'd love to know how he is doing it! Any ideas for how I can recreate this sound with a pedal would be amazing!

Apart from sounding as if it's going through all sorts of FX (Tube-Screamer, compressor, etc.) it sounds like an Ebow.

(Towards the end, the tone seems to break up mainly when he dives down with the whammy pedal so I'm thinking there might be a combination of distortion and pitchbend that destroys low notes, maybe depending which way round you connect them up. There's a probably a ton of compression on there too.)
