XLR or Jack? Mono or stereo recording?

Post by crigenjazz »

Hi everyone,

I am getting ready to record some great solo piano tracks (I am a budding composer!).
I have a Nord Stage 2 EX and a Firewire Saffire Pro 24 DSP using Garageband 10.3.
The Nord has 2xjack outputs and the Firewire audio interface has both 2xXLRs and several Jack inputs.

I am going to buy some Van Damme cables but I am unsure whether I should I get 2xmono jack to jack leads, or 2x mono jack to XLR cables or even a stereo cable?...

Any help much appreciated!

Thx

To record the output of your Nord into your Saffire Pro you will be fine with two mono jack to jack leads.
