Smileys
Smileys
For some reason I can no longer select any of these. I can enter the ones I know by hand, but not pick them up pointy-clicky style. I've only noticed this the last couple of days, and I'm not aware of any changes to my setup. Also i have no problem with other sites.

Re: Smileys
Same for me, all working fine on Safari and Chrome (Mac) browsers.
Is it still not working for you? Have you tried flushing your cache/cookies then closing the browser and re-opening?
Does it work in any other browser on the same computer?

Still working fine for me on Chrome

However, I have noticed that if I select any of the 'View more smilies' options they get ignored and nothing appears (just tried it again, and nothing appears here after I click on any of the options, both normal like the ones I've posted above or extras that that appear after the normal ones).
Not a big thing, but occasionally it would be useful to have access to them

Re: Smileys
All the clickables work for me on Win7/64 and Chrome.
Like Martin, the view more smilies link opens a separate box, but clicking on the (few) extra icons doesn't insert them into the post.

Re: Smileys
The smileys above the text box work for me but clicking on the ones on the "View more smileys" popup window does nothing at all. Firefox on Mac OS.

Re: Smileys
Yes, there's a javascript error in the popup window (the "view more smilies" popup) causing the insertion code to break, so it doesn't work.
Either it's a problem in the popup code, or some reference in the main window has changed...
In the meantime, if you want to express a complex emotion, I suggest we all take selfies of the required facial expression, and upload those in our posts instead...

Re: Smileys
Just adjusted the settings so the extra smileys should show on the posting page - but they still do not.
This phpBB software is getting rather old, but we have way too much other stuff to focus on to be utterly frank, so can we all agree to ignore those View more smilies, and one evening I'll delete them to avoid the problem?
cheers,
Ian G

Re: Smileys
Ok problem solved - it was my fault, and the result of being too careful.
From time to time I check my browser whitelist, and delete any I don't recognise. Well, it so happened that one I deleted was the one for fetching the smiley scripts.
Sorry for the noise
