Question about midisport 4x4

Post by AMusicPlayerPlus »

I have Focusrite scarlett-18i8 audio interface. My Cubase is working using scarlett driver.
I want to connect multiple midi keyboards with Midisport 4x4 (https://www.m-audio.com/products/view/m ... ry-edition)
Will it work together with the existing main audio interface (Focusrite scarlett-18i8)?
Or Midisport 4x4 is independent audio interface and will require to choose on the DAW level to work either with Focusrite scarlett-18i8 or with Midisport? Please advise.

The MIDISport is not an audio interface, so it will work fine alongside your Focusrite. Both will be available inside your DAW.

What is the difference between:
M-Audio MIDISport 4X4 AE USB
and
M-Audio MIDISport 4X4 AE USB B-Stock
?

B stock is just lower priced because they're often returns or the box has been opened or something. It's exactly the same thing though.

B-stock may be a returned unit, a shop demo unit, have some slight marks on the casing or be one with damaged packaging. It should still work 100% and come with full shop warranty plus the normal UK consumer protection rights (if buying from the UK).

Reliably fallible.

MIDISport 4X4 AE USB is available since 08/2008,
and MIDISport 4X4 AE USB B-Stock since 09/2012 and costs 7 EURO less.
In terms of spec I don't see any difference...

Will it require to buy separate cable (USB)? Or it comes together with the unit?

No there is not difference apart from price. As Wonky and Rich have said 'B Stock' means it's an item the shop can't sell as new for some reason. The date of availability will just be when the shop first listed them as in stock, it makes sense that they won't have had any 'B Stock' for a while after they first appeared.

There is usually a USB cable included, but check in the case of the B Stock version.
