Clearmountain in the box mixes?

Post by Dr Huge Longjohns »

Just watched an interview with Sir Bob of Clearmountain for Vintage King on YT. He mentions that he’s recently done some totally in-the-box mixes and thinks they’re probably as good as the ones he generally does on his ssl desk with all the usual analogue outboard etc. But annoyingly he doesn’t say what these songs are. Any Bob fans out there with inside knowledge?

If he's done them recently, then it's probably for material that hasn't been released yet.

In any case, I'm pretty sure Bob's mixes using nothing but a 4-track cassette player would still be great... ;)

Yes, you may be right. The interview was quite recent. I'd love to hear them, though.

Was he also plugging his new plugin?
Was that part of his in the box process?

I don't remember, tbh, certainly wasn't the main thrust of it unlike other interviews he's done recently. THis is it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xjT0iQEWjj8&t=8s

I emailed Sir Bob from his website and one of his team said the mixes aren't commercially available, which is a shame.
