Eight immortals
Happy Sunday, my virtual chums.
Has anyone had their hands on a Joyo Baatsin ?
A switchable clone of the Tubescreamer, OCD, and a bunch of other stuff for sixty-five quid.
(Baatsin means eight immortals, according to the blurb. Which none of us is linguistically qualified to dispute.)

Instant gratification is actually pretty good. It's fast as well.

#2 says it's "deffo not Mandarin, may be Cantonese or Jyutping" (romanised Cantonese).
He is now explaining *all* the differences, what have you started?

I deny everything. We were just friends.
For the avoidance of doubt: Joyo Baatsin is not (as far as I know) intended to be the nom de guerre of a Thai ladyboy.

He has talked me into the foetal position.
No, that's not fair. He is knowledgeable and interesting and later I'll be glad I know all this, it's just a bit early.

Indeed, “is” should be “are”.
before it all get's a bit 'tense' around here, are you sure?

People often mistake me for a grown-up because of my age.

Absolutely. He is (singular), we are (plural), ‘us’ is plural so you use ‘are’.
I’m now bound to make Grammatical mistakes in future postings.

Re: Eight immortals
So to cut a very long story short, the collective answer to my original question seems to be best summarised as 'No.'
Although I did learn to use the plural after writing 'None of us,' so it hasn't been a completely wasted afternoon. Thanks, MOF.

Re: Eight immortals
These multi-sounds in one pedal all sound well and good, but the reality is that for live use, you'd probably be better off with two pedals that you like, as each pedal type will probably require different gain, volume and tone settings to get the best from them. So, probably useful at home if recording, but far less so for live use.
Of course for the money, even if you found one drive you really liked and stuck with just that one, then it's still a decent way to audition several pedals at the same time.

Reliably fallible.

Unless in this context "none" is "not one", in which case...

Re: Eight immortals
Pedant alert, it depends on the context, 'none' can* be singular or plural. "None of us need a car" is correct and 'none' in this context is equivalent to 'not one', above quote is ambiguous I think so maybe it could be either?

That's kind of the idea. I am intrigued by the option to switch between decent analogue clones. And then use the one I like. If I ever play music that needs 101 different overdrive settings, there's a Line 6 M9 in the cupboard.

I don't need Google, I have #2, he's a bloody English teacher and has inherited the family pedantry.
