Well I bought a pair of original HR824s from 2001 for $320 USD. Unfortunately, one of the monitors is definitely clearer sounding than the other, only noticeable when switching between the two. The one sounds nice and natural when playing on its own, while the other sounds a little muffled/cloudy in the mid-range.
Anywhere you guys think I should start to look? Are there crossover capacitors that wear out over time? Overall the speakers are in really nice shape otherwise, so I'd like to get them back up to spec and sounding even to each other.
Thanks!

Have you checked the switch settings on the back are the same? It may also be worth moving the switches back and forth a bit in case the contacts have become dirty.
