Hi,
Sorry, I know this has been in various forums over the last year or so, but I've tried everything I can find anywhere, and no joy in fixing this.
All of my NI plugins work perfectly, except for FM8, which crashes and fails Logic's validation on startup. FM8 DOES work in standalone mode.
I've tried all the different methods including deleting various files and reinstalling, restarting, and rebuilding the FM8 database from within the standalone version.
I'm on 10.14.6 (Mojave), Logic Pro X 10.15, and the latest download of FM8.
Thanks,
Daniel

Does it still crash if you reset and rescan selection of FM8 in the plugin manager?

It looks like you are not alone.
One person found that the solution detailed here worked but rather than follow that exactly, read the whole thread to determine which XML files to delete.
If you've already done all that I'd recommend using Native Instruments support.

Thanks - I’ve seen that great but sadly no joy.
I’ll get on to NI.

Re: FM8 and Logic Pro X Validation
Have you tried just enabling it in the plugin manager without scanning it, little tick box on the right
Then add it to a track, does it work?

I have to admit I haven’t - I’m working my way through a complicated fifth or sixth list and a debug program from NI tech support at the moment!
I’ll give it a go though, thanks.

Hi ,
Pls try this
go to
Finder > Go (press Option) > Library (Hidden Folder) > Caches > AudioUnitCache
There can be 1 or 2 Files
Paste this in these two files
com.apple.audiounits.cache
com.apple.audiounits.sandboxed.cache
Keep your fingers crossed , hope it helps

Binary data you've posted as ASCII text into a web form?

Re: FM8 and Logic Pro X Validation
I' M Simply trying to help , you could make the backup of AU Chche and try this , if not done delete the modded file and replace with backup
Pls see , worth a try , Reason why im posting this is
I got these to work , i am still trying to remember what all i did to have these running.
But last night i made a backup of these cache files and rescanned the plugins,
I couldn't validate Absynth and FM8.
But by replacing the healthy code from previous files i could see them in plugin manager.
Thats why i asked you to try this,
I am also in the process of finding the root cause of this.
i feel it has to do with signing the .component file with a .plist file in the service center file by NI, as once the validation is done that special snpid is consumed by Logic and it doesn't let it re validate.
Till we can try some workarounds , There's no harm.
my approach may be different but look at it like stemcells , where you are trying to inject healthy cell into a broken system.

Re: FM8 and Logic Pro X Validation
The Easiest work around is here
this video is gold.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3ugXyLt ... ctechAudio
Tried and tested , it worked with least amount of Time spent. exactly 7 minutes
-It requires you to disable SIP (csrutil disable) , [you can enable it later]
after doing this process
launch the OSX Validate All AUs (link in the video)
and back to LPX plugin manager reset scan stubborn plugins. in my case
Absynth and FM8 licensed (still waiting for NI to get back)
restart your machine.
Thats it.

NI Solution
Alfredo @ NI (Native Instruments)

Hello,
Thank you for reaching out to Native Instruments.
With Native Access closed, please navigate to the following folder and delete the folder:
Mac HD > Library > Application Support > Native Instruments > Service Center
Then reopen Native Access, to let it rebuild the .xml files.
Finally try opening Logic Pro X, is validation still crashing?
Please let me know if that solves the problem for you.
Thank you.
---------------------------------------------
now after this In plugin manager they still come unchecked, but upon reset and rescan Absynth and FM8 validates it
- Just to be safe i took backup of the previous folder , in the new Service Center folder
only NativeAccess.xml will be available .
technically you need to validate 3rd party kontakt libs and other 3rd party stuff which is used with NI software . goes away .
- Now from the backup that you took of all your third party .xml files can be pasted here to save time.
After this Everything is working fine.
