Monitor stand recommendations

Post by RobinC »

I have a pair of Adam a7xs that came with some freebie Adam hall stands. The same stands seem to be badged by various manufacturers and consist of a triangular base, pole and a plate on top to sit the speaker.

They don’t seem sturdy to me and the height adjust options are limited to several predrlled holes. On the lowest setting the tweeters are slightly above my ears (I’m 5ft 10, so not tall but not short either)

Anyone got any recommendations for something sturdier. Happy to spend up to £300

I got mine from Custom Design after seeing them recommend on here. Made to exactly the height I wanted and they're incredibly sturdy. Nice people to deal with as well.

I have the same (they have been unused for years, as they were a temporary solution when I was moving).. if you fill them with heavy material, such as small pebbles, they do the job just fine. As of adjustments, I didn't find the holes particularly limiting - the height adjustment of your seating makes just as much difference...

My main gripe was the fact that the base was small and scared the heck out of me, so I made myself a clamp out of some wood and acoustic pads, so that they wouldn't fall off.

We have all of our KH310s on the T-S1 model and they’re very solid.

Good call. I was quite impressed with the Towersonics I reviewed a way back: https://www.soundonsound.com/reviews/studio-essentials
