USB to MIDI detects on laptop but doesn't work Windows 10

Post by PianoGuy »

So I tried to connect my keyboard to my laptop via midi to USB cable, it detects in device manager, but for some reason, it doesn't detect it as a midi. It works perfectly fine on my PC, so I think it could be an issue with the USB port on my laptop or Windows 10 itself, but my computer only has one USB port with two USB-C ports couldn't test a different port. I tried all possible solutions, and nothing has worked so far. I have noticed that the wdma_usb.inf for the USB driver on my laptop doesn't install.

This is my laptop's USB properties:

I'm guessing there has to be something preventing the usbaudio from starting up and it has to do with wdma_usb.inf. I tried replacing the file and still had no luck so I hope you guys can help. There could be the possibility of it not working because of it's Window's version. My laptop has a latest version of Windows while my PC has a older version so this could be the issue as well.

So the device starts on the laptop but doesn't install while on my computer it fully installs. I'm guessing something stops it from installing.
