You might sound awesome but I'm afraid I'm not going to download a file from an unknown location without any kind of introduction or explanation.

This site is a great community of friendly people with some incredible expertise that folks are happy to share, but you really have to join in the community. So come say hello and get involved if you want to be a part of it. :)

I’m not a big fan of a capella, it really could do with some backing, also the microphone could do with being closer.
It’s just the same short melody repeated, it doesn’t go anywhere.

I feel your performance.

But the mic/recording technique makes it sound lame. Like it is recorded in a box. I hear the box.

Just tryin to help.

Welcome to the forum ilovemusicsomuch,

I'm not sure what you're trying to achieve here. Much as this is a forum for discussions of all matters audio, the link you posted sounds like someone recording using a laptop speaker in an untreated room and you give no context in your original post with regards to your objectives.

On the face of it, listening to the audio you linked to sounds like someone singing casually into a recording device. What is it you want from us?

Is it a critique of your vocal style?
Is it a request to figure out how to make the recording sound better?
Is it a subtle request for some recommendations on better microphones etc?

Without knowing, there isn't much meaningful feedback we can give you. You could get a much better recording by doing it with a better microphone in a room that has better acoustics for example.

With regards to the singing itself, it is what it is. It's neither bad or exceptionally good but outside of a context it's virtually impossible to comment on it in any meaningful sense.

If you provide more information regarding what you're wanting to do and/or how you want to go about it and if we have more general context I'm sure you'll get more useful replies!
