Yes, I agree -- it looks much more like a DIN 3 connector to me.
That's looks to me like the kind of cheapo mic that would be supplied with a portable cassette recorder etc back in the 1970s.
Often the mic was a 'Crystal' (piezo electric) or possibly a moving coil. Electrets had yet to take over the world... but if it is later than it looks and is an electret there's a good chance it either won't work or will be very low level and noisy because early electrets leaked their static charge.

As Mike says, probably a Foster or similar (they were sold under quite a few different names). I had something similar which was an omni directional dynamic mic. The 3 pin DIN connector was common on European tape recorders like those made by Philips or Grundig.
