Have EigenLabs stopped developing the software? They still appear to be selling the hardware but the only version of the "EigenD-Runtime" is 1.0.0 from 2014. I have tried this but El Capitan refuses to install it and, on High Sierra, it gives a "This package is not compatible" message so I have declined to install it in the HS (my main) MBP.

Sorted (to a point ), disable SIP and it has installed. Still not very impressed that EL are still selling these products but specifying that the latest compatible OSX is 10.9 (from 2013) or Win7. Your average punter would have a real struggle to get the instrument working (and, indeed, it may turn out that I have a real struggle too ).

I'm beginning to wonder if I've done the right thing........

Looks like you still have to disable SIP but you will at least get some bug fixes!

Also Eigenlabs are basically dead, it all went down the pan a few years ago.

They still have an active website and all the EigenHarp versions are available for sale with 2019 delivery dates?

Thanks for the link, I had found 'The Technobear's' offerings but haven't looked into it properly yet (I don't have the Pico yet, an ebay purchase and I'm awaiting delivery). He does do a Linux build (apparently he is a Linux aficionado) so a dedicated Raspberry Pi VSTi host looks a real possibility (which would be great, I do prefer my instruments stand alone).

That may be the case but they went down the pan in 2014 I think, meaning no more future development. This was when they made all the software public domain and let others take over the support of it.

I think basically they are still setup to create instruments to order but the guys behind it have moved on to new things.

I'm pretty sure it does all run on a Raspberry Pi, I'm sure I read that before somewhere.

The closest anyone has got to making a Pico standalone is Technobear's work with the Organelle.

A while back I picked up a Pisound and I was hoping to make a Pico sound module or MIDI interface out of that...but this Linux stuff is quite an effort for me and that project's on hold at the moment. When I've played it live I've just used a laptop.

Thanks BJG, that's just what I wanted to hear (especially as it came just after I'd bought one..... )

I think I'd be pretty annoyed if I'd spent £5k on an EigenHarp Alpha only to discover that there was no software support. I understand them making them to order if there is still a demand (and I'm not surprised there is a demand) but they should really make the support situation clear on the website.

Thanks, doing a lot of reading just now and I'm away on hols 'till Friday so won't get my hands on the Pico 'till Sat I'll start off with the basic setup I think and see of I can make some relatively musical noises. Then I see a Raspberry Pi on the horizon.....

The Organelle looks excellent, maybe one day, but I'll content myself with getting to grips (or not) with the Pico for now.

The Continuumini is proving a hit at jam nights, with people asking about it, photographing it and wanting a go on it. There's something very accessible about ribbon synths, which encourages people to play them whether they usually play other instruments or not. This one's a keeper.

It’s a display I think, I have seen pics of letters on it.

The ribbon on the continuumini, is totally hopeless. I had to keep taking it apart to reseat the springs, terrible design.
