Can any of you wonderful people please provide me with a simple DIY Acoustic Panel guide? I'm not the handiest man in the world and would even be open to just buying some after reading so many different ways you should and shouldn't do it. I'm down to save some money, but is it even worth saving the margin after all the time and effort buying each part from different websites, making it and still paying a fair bit for it all?
Help for my stupid brain is more appreciated than you can imagine!
Thanks guys

Re: DIY Acoustic Panels
My experience is that it can be cheaper to build acoustic panels on the condition that you're fairly confident in the process and you don't mind giving up a lot of time to get there. If you weigh up your time against getting on with life it can also make sense to buy off the shelf!

Re: DIY Acoustic Panels
Mine were not quite as quick as my namesake's "15 minute panels" https://www.soundonsound.com/techniques ... -challenge but they were quick and easy to build.
I used 1200 x 600 x 50mm Rockwool RW3 panels and Cara fabric to cover. Make the frames lay on the fabric, drop the Rockwool batt into the frame and then staple the fabric around the back as neatly as you can. I then added 40mm battens across the frame to space the panels off the wall/ceiling. I think there's a thread somewhere with more construction details.

Mine are similar to Sam's but I put hardboard/thin plywood triangles on the back corners to help rigidity. This also means that the ends of the battens don't have to be precisely square as the triangles can be used to fix the battens at right angles.
