Customising your Behringer interface.

Great video I stumbled across, I have a Behringer UMC1820, and like the guy in the video find it difficult to make out the knobs sometimes, he’s put different coloured knobs instead, I’ve done this with my Doepfer modules too, and also my Novation A-Station, it makes a hell of a difference, you can use red for filters, and different colours for EG's etc.
I’ve got tons of these knobs in my toolbox, but you can get them from Thonk.

The video that inspired me is on YouTube, just look up "Behringer UMC1820 how I fixed" I didn’t post a direct link, as there is a tiny bit of swearing in it, so it’s up to you.
Boring, but a really useful thing to do.

Yep and in addition to that, I sort of have an inbuilt filter that automatically dismisses any YouTube vid that begins with "Yo wassup guys" almost always tends to be an overture to a rambling extemporization of piffle, you can bet the house on it. Where I say through gritted teeth - "Just get on with it man"

I don't have the link to hand, but by way of contrast I was watching a similarish video on YouTube by a young woman and her delivery was exemplary, she trundled along in a cheery but highly informative manner and at each juncture dropped straight onto the point in question in a concise manner and dealt with the 3 WWW What Why and When to use something, and of course How, without wallowing in a loop of insignificant detail and potty mouthed waffle

Of course Andrew Kramer from Video Copilot always started his amazing After Effects tutorials with "Hey Whatsup, Andrew Kramer here..." so I guess every rule has an exception. (Of course he's now far too busy doing real VFX on huge blockbusters for guys like JJ Abrams, to be posting VFX tutorials)

"Transparent Knob Tops" not only a very, very good name for a band, but obviously something I have to avail myself of.
What we need now are luminous and Day-Glo knob tops.
I’m trying to imagine my whole modular with Day-Glow knob tops.
2600? Please, I’ve staved off buying one since they came out, it’s getting, really, really hard now, I’m imagining all of my feedback patches, and what they’d sound like on the Berry.
Trouble is, I can’t make up my mind, a Grey Meanie, or a Blue Marvin?

That is indeed an impressive video, both from a sensible informative and inspirational sonic point of view

He’s playing something very familiar, nothing new there, but he makes it sound incredible.
You can tell, the moment he touches the instrument, that he’s got what it takes.

Yes (at least on the black/orange one there is - I guess it will be the same). Given that they are all the same colour on the grey it it probably a sensible thing to do.

I’ll come clean, there is an ulterior motive here, I’m sneaking this in, the last thing I need are loads of glaring lights to draw attention.
I just hope the 32U rack doesn’t draw attention.
