Is there a budget blimp for longer shotgun mics?

Post by Tomás Mulcahy »

I mean for genuinely "shotgun" mics (i.e. line and gradient), the 460mm kind. The Rode blimps are fine but these mics are too long. Yes I could buy one of the many excellent Rycote options but the budget is tight.

So any tips on a budget option? Or anyone looking to sell something suitable please?

I'd checkout the second hand offerings on BBList. Rycotes come up quite frequently.

I presume that you're aware that Rode make 'extension tubes' for the Blimp to accommodate longer mics...?

Thomann have them I know... doubtless so do many other suppliers...
