We're with Bank of Scotland. My studio is a posh garden shed type of thing, BoS confirmed that it was all already covered in our premium (which was also really good in covering other things like fairly expensive bicycles and things like CD collections). Premium has remained fairly steady over the last three years.

EDIT - I should probably point out that there's only one item in my studio worth over £1000 though (the PC). Some insurers have cut-off points where things have to get listed separately so it would be worth checking this if you have any pricey individual items.

Mine is covered under our House insurance (SAGA I believe ;) ), we used to have to name high value items but they’ve dropped that now. My synths are my highest value items and they’re completely covered they assure me.
In fact my photo gear is also covered when away from the house and it was cheaper than using bespoke camera insurance (which I’ve wasted money on in the past)

Just be sure to read the policy exclusions whomever you choose and speak with a human to make sure there are no high value requirements.

I've used these guys for 15 years, affordable rates and always paid out as and when.

Always on the end of the phone if you realise you're on your way somewhere with an instrument you'd only covered for studio use…

note: that there's sometimes a classification difference between "musical instruments" and "computer equipment"

Late to the party... again!

Some time ago my entire studio was removed in a burglary - literally an empty room apart from acoustic treatment and furnishings...

All kit was under our general household insurance with a couple of named high-value items. Insurance were willing to pay in full after a site-visit and long conversation with an assessor...

... and then the police recovered absolutely everything - down to the last cable! Only casualty was a cable ripped from a plug in the haste to remove things. I continued to use some of that kit for many subsequent years...
